No exercise, just work.

Wednesday morning we got out for a perfectly time, 3.6miler at 36 minutes. We wanted to take it easy for a few reasons. 1) we're racing this weekend at the Idlewild 5k(woot), and 2) I am concious of my knee since the 5.2 mile run. When I mean "concious", I mean that it's agitated. It is a bit swollen and obiously not happy about the long run, but it's not enough to make me want to stop. It feels pretty good today. No discomfort to speak of, and it's generally unnoticible. And despite my desires, but perhaps for the better, has been a day of "rest".
My spinning class was delayed due to a short notice meeting called by the CIO for my lunch hour. I had intended to make it to the gym and get on the eliptical, but that plan fell through when I was handed an emergency rebuild for a field claims adjuster. ug.

Oh well. I suppose my knee will thank me. my stress level is, however, a little worse for the wear.

The days of "just work" are not fun ones. I completely understand the stress level increase. :( Sorry to hear it.

However, I'm glad your knee is getting a little rest! I was wondering how it was feeling today after you said it was swollen last night at kickball. Did you ice it last night?!?! nag nag nag ice nag ice it! nag ;)

We should ease your knee into a better plan. Perhaps 5.2 was a little too much of a jump, especially considering you're only running twice a week, right? I guess your workout schedule really is more like a multi-sport schedule (running and biking, and lifting). So the rate of increasing distance could perhaps need to be a little different. I will consult my resources :)

Sorry about the foiled workout plans today. You will be nice and rested for the 5K Sunday though!! It's always better to be more rested than overtrained/hurting. :)
